In ancient times the First King saved the people of Eiddam from a dark enemy and, before fading into the legend, he gifted them the Gift.
With the Gift people could withstand any enemy, but soon they began to forget the true nature of the Gift. Years later, the Masters of Gifts are the only ones who still know about the Gift. Lumen is the Youngest Master of Gifts when Amethyst finds him and becomes his apprentice.
I love how this story was spun to make you not only fall in love with the characters but to feel and care about what happens to them. Lumen is such a kind hearted guy who i just wanted to take home with me and hide away from any drama/pain (i have a soft spot for him). And Amethyst is that naive little girl you want to shield away from any heartache or drama that may come her way because you can just tell drama will follow her.

I love the way M.K. Allen makes you invest your emotions into these characters and their journey. By the time you get to the last page your wondering where the rest is and how you can get your hands on the next book in the series.

I can't wait to join Amethyst and Lumen as their journey continues and I'm hoping in the meantime that that prince (who shall not be named) i absolutely abhor doesn't get his way and Lumen comes as quick as possible to save the day, and maybe romance blossoms there (see no spoilers).
If you want to know what I'm talking about just buy the book, you won't regret it.
